After fellowship, Dr. Johnson completed additional specialized training in breast cancer care. He stayed in Seattle to serve on the faculty for four years at the University of Washington, one of the country’s top cancer centers, pursuing both patient care and research. He published original research on novel cancer treatments and received the American Society for Clinical Oncology Young Investigator Award and a National Institute of Health clinical scientist award. He returned to the east coast in 2004, settling in Massachusetts.

Dr. Johnson enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. He enjoys coaching his son’s soccer team on fall weekends. Dr. Johnson enjoys reading classic novels, sports and outdoors, and travelling. He has travelled to Central America to work in rural health clinics.
